This project translates a dissertation on memory and its physical anchors into a visually compelling book. Titled Memory: the home, the object & the image, the book delves into how our personalities and sense of self are shaped by the memories we attach to the spaces and things around us.
The book is structured into three chapters – The Home, The Object, and The Image – which investigate topics from the cultural differences in defining 'home' to the role of objects as time capsules and the modern phenomenon of digital documentation. The design of the book aims to give these academic concepts a tangible form. By exploring a considered typographic system and a visual language that thoughtfully complements the text, the project seeks to make a complex and personal topic accessible, inviting readers to reflect on their own relationships with the past.
